Thank goodness for holidays! The Hawker girls got together on Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr’s Day to hang out. We participated in a march in downtown Spokane, took Dad to lunch, and then had a well-deserved nap. Since it was Julia’s 20th birthday, we went out to Rancho Viejo (with the boys too!) to celebrate. It was a wonderful day, and as Mom and I were winding down at home at the end of the day we were talking about our to-do lists, and how we had spent an entire day doing nothing that we needed to get done. Nowhere on my to-do list did I have written, “make Kaitlyn giggle by biting cookies out of her hand”, or “march through downtown Spokane in the cold”, or “eat a really really big veggie burrito while sitting next to Scott”. But, you know what? I should. My to-do list should be re-prioritized. So, thank goodness for holidays! And thank goodness for inspired men like Dr. King!
