I know, I know, it’s my third blog entry today (geek!), but Groundhog’s day is such a special day, and I just had to add one last thing….this is a painting (one of my all-time favorites!) of Julie. I took this photo on the morning of Groundhog’s day, a few weeks after Josh got home from his mission. Julie had come over to our house before the sun rose, and she had a whole little Groundhog’s day thing planned for Josh. I took this photo of her, in awe of her joy and determination and faith. I hoped and prayed that she and Josh would end up together for at least two reasons: I already adored her like a sister, and because in so many ways, I was just like her. I wanted her fairytale to come true so that I could believe that mine would too. I chose the word, “thus” because the story felt so undone. I used butterflies because they always remind me of Julie and they are symbolic of change and perserverance and summer…
The story of Josh and Julie (and now, little Abraham) is far from over, but I can, with a smile, complete the sentence and answer the anticipation of this sweet-faced Julie: thus, they lived forever after, joyously. =)
g’night folks.
