Now all I need is a great entryway.
Last week Jullia and I went to the Fox Theater early in the morning and after wandering through rows of dusty chairs I settled on a quadruplet set. Yes… I am the proud owner of a set of original chairs from the Fox Theater. They aren’t in new shape (the man who I purchased them from said that he would throw in the vintage gum on the underside!), they aren’t of exceptional design…but they were there when Fox was a Vaudeville stage, and they were there when Anna and I went to watch Romeo and Juliet 16 times. It was always a treat to watch a movie at the Fox (and the bathrooms were the coolest!!!) These chairs, in their refurbished state, will rest in my future home. =) It’s important to me to reside in a place that I’ve created, not only in feeling, but in intention. It may make me kind of a design geek, but I want my furniture to not only be comfortable and look good, I also want it to MEAN something…and these chairs mean a whole lot to me. Maybe I should study my Stickly and Wright?
