I spent many hours this week baking cakes for men that are nameless to me. I enjoyed myself quite a bit because I like wearing aprons and licking batter from wooden spoons. The cakes were given as gifts from the sisters in my ward to the men in my ward for Valentine’s Day. How I wish that I could have saved them for the named men in my life, and hand delivered each one with a hug. Unfortunately, these men are spread all over the world… and I am yet still too demure to just appear….cake in hand.
Love and wisdom. I’m learning that there is one that you can sacrifice for and gain the other…but the converse is not true.
One peice of wisdom that I’ve gained from mistakes is so perfectly expressed in First Day of my Life by Bright Eyes that I’ll steal his words: So if you wanna be with me, with these things there’s no telling, we’ll just have to wait and see, but I’d rather be working for a paycheck than waiting to win the lottery.
keep saying yes to love all ya’ll!
elle.
