8 months Mr Danger!

Mr Jack

Dear cutest boy alive,
You are such a joy to be around, with your cute little smile and your robust little giggle. Almost daily I remark to your Dad that you are the cutest baby I have ever seen.

This month was one of lots of firsts for you. Your first bath was during your first trip to New Orleans where you also had your first street car ride and witnessed your first parade (and what better place than nola for that?).

(you were dressed as sweet pea for the parade, but your legs were cold so Dad put some tube socks on your legs).

playing with costume scraps

You like to grab everything within your reach and put it into your mouth. Cheerios, scraps of paper, lint- it’s all the same to you. I find myself saying, “What’s in your mouth Jack? Ick! Don’t eat that!” At least once per day. Lint: no. Cheerios: yes. Crickets: perhaps.

at the park

I try to take you to the park at least once per day. You love to swing- but get pretty nervous on the slide. You also get nervous when you see or hear your Dad’s motorcycle. It makes me laugh because I know he wants to take you out as soon as I’ll allow it (which is still years away)- but you don’t want to be within 6 feet of one of those things.

Jack as Captain Hook

You were dressed as Captain Hook for Halloween and people came to our Halloween party just to see you. Thank you for not getting goopy stuff all over the velvet coat that I made you- I really appreciate it.

Garth and Jack play

You’re quite the little performer and like to show off your skills (especially during sacrament meeting). You can blow rasberries, clap, high five, wave, stand holding onto your crib, gurgle, and do this cool thing.

It’s hard to believe that in one more month you’ll be nine months old and will have been breathing air as long as you were in my belly. Crazy.

We love you little man- even though you’re crying at this very moment, struggling to stay asleep- you’re still just about the cutest, sweetest, most delightful thing ever made.

Mama.
