Have I mentioned that I have the best job ever?

March 22nd, 2007 No Comments

Last week my students and I learned about graffiti. They created thier own graffiti artist name (so as not to get caught yo!) and then chose a social or political issue to make a statement about. I am always amazed at the creativity that can be found in these students! My greatest [...]

Happy Semester-end for me!

January 24th, 2007 No Comments

This was taken yesterday. If you can believe it, I now have 4 stacks of sketchbooks and portfolios to grade and I am no longer visible behind them. =)

Last night was Back to School Night at Torrey Pines High School, and I greeted the parents with a smile and blue hands. I’ve been working on three Emily costumes to sell on eBay. My apartment is a tangle of black garbage bags, sinks full of dye, and various dripping and painted costume [...]

one of the best parts of being a teacher.

I get to make art all day. Some days. =)

This is yesterdays art. Blind contour line drawings (each drawing was drawn in about 30 seconds) filled in with watercolor. =)
My life right now is all about this video and getting it completed and to Boston on time. It will be overnighted or [...]

It’s amazing how quiet 37 students can be on the first day of school. It is probably the easiest teaching day ever.
