This quilt was made for my most super dearest friend, Anna, to give to her sister for the birth of her daughter, Maci Noel. I used remnants of lots of projects for the blocks on front and some uber cute crab fabric that I picked up at JoAnn’s long ago. The binding is extra large bias tape that I made from vintage sheets. I machine quilted it in these traced squares- the whole quilt is (or could have been I suppose, since I ran off the edges a few times) quilted with a single line that snakes upon itself over and over. Lots of turning on the old sewing machine! I really adore how it turned out though…I’ll have to do one like this for me. It’s on it’s way to SoCal, where I wish I was breathing…

This is Bruno! This is the quilt that I’ve been working on! *chuckles* My exciting Saturday night at home, quilting! Think that you’re a geek for sitting at home on Saturday night watching tv? It could be worse, you could be quilting. =) The funny thing is I like it. I choose to be here. I wish that I had more time to create. I’m jealous of people who get to do this for a living. I know…if that’s what I want to do, I should do it. I’m working on it. It’s just so tempting and addicting to wait tables! The money is wonderful, and the people that I work with at Red Robin are the best! So, until I find myself out of this pool-sized hole of debt that I have created for myself, I will wait tables, and my dream of a warm, inviting studio where I can paint, sew, dream, listen, and create, will have to wait. Only a little while longer! Only 875,102 tables more to serve!
ummm… so thanks for reading me… I have to go find a way to bind the edges of the baby chick! (or, I’m going to name it, “Logan” because my super friend Jandre Sherwood had her son Logan the other day!)
loves!

Why is it that I really get going at night? Here it is, past one in the morning, and I KNOW that I should go to bed because if my phone rings at 6am with a teaching job, I need to go. I remember last year, when I was teaching in Mukilteo, I would promise myself as I got out of bed in the morning that I would work harder to get into bed earlier that night. It never really worked out. =) I feel like I drag myself to bed right when I get into my groove. Tonight, I have been working on Abraham’s baby blanket…. (shhh! Josh and Julie don’t know that I’m making one!)… and watching an X-Files Abduction set that Scotty got for me for Christmas (Love you Sko!). It got me thinking….when I have a son, and name him Fox…what sort of baby blanket will I make for him? Too bad that’s it’s one in the morning, or I might need to explore that possibility!
I hope that you are all snug in your beds. =)
